Reading material

The text for the course is Modern Information Retrieval, by Ricardo Baeza-Yates and Berthier Ribeiro-Neto, published 1999 by Addison Wesley.  Copies are available for purchase in the Textbook Annex.  A copy is on reserve in the Physical Sciences Library.

Other material--e.g., conference papers or chapters from van Rijsbergen's book--will be assigned occasionally to supplement the text.  These additional readings will be on reserve in the Physical Sciences Library or will be handed out in class.
